The DR650 is known for its relaxed highway gearing. Off road the stock gearing is not as impressive.

The stock sprockets are 15 tooth countershaft, and 41-tooth (everywhere in the world), 42-tooth (USA/Canada/California) at the rear.

Replacing the standard 15 tooth front with a 14 tooth sprocket is a popular and cheap performance modification.
